Darwin Williams, Father of LB First Lady Nancy Foster, Sic Transit

(Jan. 18, 2012) -- Mayor Bob Foster announced at the conclusion of last night's (Jan. 17) City Council meeting that his father-in-law, LB First Lady Nancy Foster's father Darwin Williams, had passed away that morning.

"Darwin Williams was a really good guy, a Naval veteran, in the service for about eight or nine years, contracted diabetes and it's really been amazing that he's lived for 87 years with that disease. A very interesting guy, very well read and a devoted family man, and he will be missed," the Mayor said speaking extemporaneously.

The City Council adjourned its meeting in Mr. Williams' memory.
