(June 29, 2013) -- In an exclusive audio interview with LBREPORT.com, award winning author D.J. Waldie speaks about his upcoming appearance on Sunday, June 23 as part Rancho Los Alamitos' "Conversations In Place 2013" series.
In the interview with LBREPORT.com's Joe Mello available on-demand below, Mr. Waldie discusses his work for the Getty Museum's Pacific Standard Time, his collaboration on two books with actress Diane Keaton and reflects on his critically acclaimed book Holy Land: A Suburban Memoir about the history of Lakewood, California. Mr. Waldie, who taught at CSULB in the mid-1970's, began working for Lakewood City Hall in late 1977, serving as its Public Information Officer for roughly 19 years and retiring as Deputy City Manager in 2010. His works have also appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Magazine. He currently blogs about "Where We Are" on KCET.org.
