Event Advisory

Candidates For County Sheriff And State Legislative Offices To Attend Saturday (April 19) Grassroots One-On-One "Meet-Greet-And-Eat" At Long Beach Dairy & Creamery b/w 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; Dan Pressburg Provides Details Here

(April 18, 2014, 8:05 a.m.) -- Dan Pressburg says his Saturday April 19 one-on-one meet-greet-and-eat for June ballot candidates will include (confirmed as of dawn Friday) at least three candidates for L.A. County Sheriff, including LBPD Chief Jim McDonnell (details below.) Also present will be the candidates vying for the Long Beach-San Pedro Assembly seat and the NLB-Carson Assembly seat. Candidates for a Lakewood/Gateway cities state Senate seat have also indicated they'll attend (and if elected will obviously have a vote on Long Beach impacting matters.)

It's a chance to meet and speak with the candidates one-on-one in an informal atmosphere, without being told to sit down, keep quiet and scrawl your question on a 3x5 card.

The meet-greet-and-eat will take place Saturday April 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at LB's historic Long Beach Dairy and Creamery Historic Landmark at 167 South St. (Mr. Pressburg's home.)

Host Pressburg says that as of dawn Friday, the following candidates have indicated they'll attend at some point during the four hour event. (Tip: At past events, candidates tend to show up during the first half of the event, but like the public, candidates can drop in at any time.)

In the June election for partisan state offices, Dems can vote for Repubs and vice versa.

The L.A. County Sheriff race is closely watched; whoever prevails will become the first new County Sheirff in sixteen years, in charge of jails as well as capacity and early release issues affecting the entire County.

At Saturday's event, there'll be quiche (a Pressburg specialty), bacon, cheesy grits, sausage and homemade biscuits. The public is invited...and yes, donations are accepted for Mr. Pressburg's efforts and costs.
