UPDATED: Fed Up With "Political Graffiti?" We Invite Campaigns And Independent Committees Either To Claim The Signs We Show Here Are Lawful/Consensual Or Remove Them

(April 16, 2014, 7:20 p.m.) -- This sign, paid for by the independent expenditure committee backing Garcia for Mayor (about which Mayor Foster said "you don't see my name on it") was spotted on April 11 along Bellflower Blvd. in Los Altos just south of 405: Like other signs from this committee, it's not immediately clear if it was posted with the property owner's consent, but is placed high on private property, making removal a less than simple task. It's afixed with heavy packing tape, like others we've seen. If you see signs like this, email us a photo and we'll add it here.

(April 10, 2014, 7:30 p.m.) -- LBREPORT.com launches a new feature showing what some person(s) have done during the current Long Beach election cycle. The photos below speak for themselves.

LBREPORT.com invites candidate campaigns and independent expenditure committees whose signs are displayed here to email us at mail@LBReport.com, stating that the signs shown here are legally/consentually posted or attaching a photo showing that the sign(s) have been removed.

If you see election signs in areas where you believe they don't belong, feel free to email us what you see (including where and when) at mail@LBReport.com.

LBREPORT.com does NOT recommend or encourage readers to remove any election campaign signs from any private property that isn't their own. Re public property, LBREPORT.com notes that readers contact LB Code Enforcement at (562) 570-CODE.

  • April 10: Reader says Robert Garcia For Mayor signs posted in the vicinity of the Willow St. Blue Line station, one at the garage entrance, one along the walkway to the platform and one adjacent to the platform gate. Reader says they were placed prior to Tuesday morning [Election Day April 8]"

LBREPORT.com has previously reported on signs printed/assembled by an independent expenditure committee (about which Mayor Foster has said "you don't see my name on it") supporting Garcia for Mayor. The signs appeared on Long Beach business properties with no visible indication of whether their placement was agreed to by the property owner. Independent Expenditure Committees are legally separate from and cannot coordinate their actions with a candidate or a candidate's campaign.

Mayoral candidate Garcia has indicated on social networks that he isn't responsible for independent expenditure committee's signs.
