Shooting Victims Stable In Hospital; 2 Suspects Arrested

LB Blvd/68th Way, 4-28-01 (April 28, 2001) -- A Saturday afternoon crowd of NLB residents looked on, business owners peeked out their doors and police investigated after an attack by roughly 20 people on two individuals parked in the 6800 block of LB Blvd. left the two victims shot and beaten; their car was then stolen, driven to Compton and set on fire.

LBPD told LBReport.com that at about 4:20 p.m. today, two males in a car parked on LB Blvd. near 68th Way were attacked by a group of approximately 20 individuals. Both people in the car were shot and beaten. The victims' car was then stolen, driven to Compton and set on fire.

LA Sheriffs responded to the car fire and took one suspect into custody. A second suspect was taken into custody after he returned to the original crime scene in LB.

LBPD said the two shooting victims are in a LB hospital in stable condition.

Police believe the events may be gang related.
