April 29: Two Shootings Roughly A Mile North of Downtown LB

  • Woman Shot, Area between Pacific Ave. & Pine Ave. near 14th St.
  • Man Shot, Area 20th & Magnolia/Chestnut

(April 29, 2002) -- Two people were shot tonight in areas less than a mile from each other roughly a mile north of downtown LB.

In the first crime, a woman was shot in the area between Pine Ave. and Pacific Ave. near 14th St. in the 1st Council district.

Details are sketchy as we post. A number of shots may have been fired in the area in two separate shooting incidents, although only one person was hit. The victim was reported in serious condition at a local hospital as of 9:00 p.m. The suspect is described as a male, age 19, driving a small, grey compact car.

In the second crime, a man was shot in the area of Magnolia/Chestnut Ave. and 20th St. where the 6th & 7th Council districts meet. Details are also sketchy as we post, but the victim was apparently shot while walking in an alley.
