LBPD Arrests Four In Killing of LB Woman, Body Found In Parked Vehicle 1200 Block Werner Ave. (vicinity Orange/Anaheim)

(April 4, 2003) -- LBPD has announced the arrest of four people in connection with the murder of a 28-year old Christina Wilkerson, whose body was found March 22 inside a vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Werner Ave. (one block north of Anaheim St., near Orange Ave., area west of MacArthur Park, 6th Council district).

In a written release, LBPD announced that on April 1, members of its newly formed Gang and Violent Crime Division arrested Santiago Manuel Martinez, 21 (police say he was the victim's boyfriend), a friend, and the boyfriend's father and mother, all of LB.

The L.A. County Coroner's office determined that Ms. Wilkerson died of a gunshot wound, although there were also stab wounds on her body.

LBPD says the four arrests resulted from "a complete investigation by members of the Homicide, Gang and Career Criminal Apprehension Team Units."

Police say in a written release indicate they consider the case a domestic violence incident with jealousy as one possible motive.

LBPD asks anyone with information that may assist in the investigation to call Homicide Detectives Mark McGuire or Chris Cardoza at (562) 570-7244.
