LBPD Arrests Suspect In String of Robberies Covering Bix. Knolls, Bix. Highlands, Mem. Hts. & NLB

(April 4, 2003) -- LBPD has announced the arrest of a suspect allegedly responsible for a string of robberies that encompassed Bixby Knolls, Bixby Highlands, Memorial Heights & NLB.

Police arrested Demetrius Johnson, 19, of Carson, saying surveillance video and a thorough investigation identified him as the suspect allegedly responsible for a number of LB robberies -- including four in the 3400 block of LB Blvd (two on Mar. 4, two on Mar. 11) -- over the past six months (listed below).

LBPD says that in each incident, the suspect would allegedly enter the business armed with a handgun, demand money and was sometimes seen leaving in a vehicle.

In a written release, police indicate that plainclothes officers located the suspect's vehicle at his residence, conducted surveillance...and search warrants were subsequently served that recovered a handgun, clothing and part of the loss.
