    Field of Dreams: ELB Baseball Fundraising Tournament Begins -- Runs Thru April 26 -- To Benefit Pony League Coach Ron Percy, Injured In Traffic Accident


    Coach Percy(April 25, 2003) -- ELB residents turned a Heartwell Park baseball diamond at Woodruff Ave. and Carson St. into a field of dreams on April 24 -- and plan to do so again on April 25 and 26.

    A three-day fundraising tournament, filled with homebaked cookies and cakes, grilled burgers and hotdogs, a raffle and special T-shirts, is generating proceeds for the family of Coach Ron Percy in ELB's Pony League Mustang Division, recovering from a serious March 29 traffic accident.

    Coach PercyA written release says, "For years, Ron has been a coach and mentor to many young children in the league. Please join us in supporting Ron Percy and his family. In addition to the proceeds from the softball tournament and t-shirt sales, we will also donate all the proceeds from a bake sale and raffle to the Percy family. Cash donations and raffle prizes are being accepted and are greatly appreciated."
