8th Council District: Challenger Gabelich Will Be In June Runoff Versus Incumbent Webb; Jensen Finishes 3d

(April 13, 2004, updated April 14 @ 10:13 a.m.) -- A grassroots challenge by Rae Gabelich has earned the LBHUSH2 founder a June runoff with 8th district Council incumbent Rob Webb. Candidate Terry Jensen, backed by the LB Press-Telegram finished third with Kennedy Collins fourth.

The LB Business Journal endorsed Rob Webb. [Our apologies to the Business Journal for our mangling this factoid in earlier posting.]

An unofficial total from LB's City Clerk showed incumbent Webb with 1,327 votes (40%) and Ms. Gabelich finishing second with 1,060 (32.1%). Jensen drew 772 votes (23.4%).

LBReport.com was the first LB media outlet to call for incumbent Webb's removal last year and subsequently endorsed Ms. Gabelich.

    Further to follow.
