(April 28, 2004) -- Reversed wind conditions caused the FAA to direct arriving jets over ELB areas north of the 405 freeway to circle into an approach at the north end of the main diagonal runway (near Carson/Cherry), while Los Altos got takeoffs instead of arrivals for most of the daylight hours on April 28.
The reversed approaches and takeoffs started about midmorning and lasted until about sunset when the winds returned to normal shortly after 7:30 p.m.
The flight activity rankled a number residents. During the day "we received a significant number of telephone calls," LB Airport spokesperson Sharon Diggs-Jackson told LBReport.com.
