(April 5, 2007) -- CSI Miami likes filming in Long Beach...and on Thursday morning April 5 the show was on location in El Dorado Park.
We thank Location Manager Paul Codiga for letting us barge-in and snap these quick pix while crewmembers were setting up in Area III north of Wardlow Rd., near the fire station.
Mr. Codiga volunteered that the show really likes LB and appreciates coming here. He noted that Long Beach offers multiple backdrops: shoreline, downtown and country-style open space.
The day's work starts early.
Much of the equipment was already in place by 8:00 a.m.
This "Miami Dade law enforcement" vehicle needed some tire repair.
Trucks arrive like a self-contained army...carrying everything that might be needed (including unforeseen surprises that might pop up on-location.)
Time is money, requiring everything has to be at hand.
The day's work involved a large crew.
This isn't like shooting video for "YouTube."
The location equipment included a well-equipped kitchen.
It includes an amenity beyond most home kitchens: wide screen digital video.
LB City Hall has an office of Special Events and Filming that facilitates these activities. Yes, City Hall charges and collects fees for filming permits...and the revenue goes to LB's General Fund.
Thank you, CSI Miami. Enjoy LB.
