(April 15, 2008) -- Dean Singleton, chairman of AP's Board of Directors and corporate chieftan for the Los Angeles News Group which owns the Press-Telegram/Daily Breeze, directed Q & A at AP's (April 14) Annual Luncheon...during which he asked Sen. Barack Obama about sending more troops to Afghanistan where "Obama Bin Laden" is still at large.
"I think that was Osama bin Laden," Sen. Obama replied.
An embarrassed Singleton responded, "If I did that, I'm so sorry."

This isn't the first time Sen. Obama's name has been mangled in this way. In an Oct. 2007 campaign gaffe, then-Repub Presidential candidate/former MA Governor Mitt Romney attributed a quote to Barack Obama when referring to audio tape by Osama Bin Laden.
In Feb. 2008, MSNBC used a picture of Osama bin Laden when Hardball host Chris Matthews was speaking about Sen. Barack Obama.
And in early 2007, CNN used a graphic that was supposed to say, "Where's Osama?"...but instead said, "Where's Obama?"
