(April 4, 2009) -- LBPD has arrested the boyfriend of a female CSULB student, found dead at a residence in the 700 block of Bellflower Blvd. In a release, LBPD says officers responded on April 2 and learned that the deceased body of Kate Yi, 20, had been discovered by her roommate. "Long Beach Homicide Detectives immediately launched an intense investigation to identify the suspect," says LBPD in a release. The next day (April 3) the investigation led Detectives to the City of Orange where the victim's boyfriend, Jonathan Huynh, was located and charged with her murder. LBPD says its Detectives believe the murder allegedly occurred following an altercation between the victim and the suspect. The suspect is not a CSULB student. He was taken into custody without incident.
