Now, It's Murder; One Of Two Men Shot, Wrigley Area 2300 block Eucalyptus, Dies

(April 9, 2014) -- Now, it's murder. One of the two men shot in the Wrigley area on Saturday night (April 5) has died.

In a release today (April 9), LBPD says that it was notified on April 8 that that one of the victims succumbed to his injuries. He's identified as Herbert Shephard, 51, of Los Angeles.

(LBPD isn't releasing the surviving victim's identity [standard protocol; he's the victim of a violent crime.]

LBPD says there's no suspect information available and a motive for the shooting is unknown. (April 5, 2014, 11:25 p.m.) -- As flashed on LBREPORT.com's front page earlier tonight, gunfire was heard in the Wrigley district in the area of Eucalyptus Ave. near Burnett St., and LBPD confirms that two men (adults) were struck and transported to a hospital, their conditions not immediately known.

LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Brad Johnson tells LBREPORT.com that officers were dispatched at roughy 9:07 p.m. and arrived in the 2300 block of Eucalyptus to find two men with gunshot wounds. They were transported to a hospital and LBPD's investigation is ongoing tonight.
