Gunfire Last Night (April 10) In NLB, Bullets May Have Struck Vehicle But No Persons Hit, Same General Area (Artesia/Paramount) Where Man Was Shot In Mid-March

(April 11, 2014, 5:55 a.m.) -- Gunfire was heard, and police say a vehicle [and LBREPORT.com believes possibly the outside of a residence] may have been hit by gunfire in a North Long Beach neighborhood southeast of Artesia Blvd/Paramount Blvd. on Wednesday night (April 10.) Although initial information is that no person was struck on April 10, the shots fired were in the same vicinity where a man was shot in mid-March.

Since Jan. 1, 2014: Red Xs=Murders; Blue Xs=Shootings (person hit); Purple=Shootings (vehicle/residence struck, no person hit)

Initial information was sketchy in the wake of the shooting as officers were in the process of determining the full extent of what happened.

In initial information (shortly before 11:00 p.m.), LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Brad Johnson told LBREPORT.com that at about 9:05 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of E. 65th St regarding shots heard.

No victims were located but officers did locate a vehicle that may have been hit.

As previously reported by LBREPORT.com, on March 14 a man was shot in the area of Paramount Blvd./65th St.

At that time, LBPD indicated it was investigating the March shooting as possibly gang related.

Further as we learn it on LBREPORT.com.
