(August 15, 2003) -- It's not as bad as New York in mid-August without air conditioning -- and without electricity...after waiting hours at JFK airport -- but it got the attention of Los Altos residents early this morning.
As LBReport.com readers learned from an advisory we sent to our (free) email alert list at 9:50 p.m. on Aug. 14, the power outage in NYC prompted two post midnight LB Airport arrivals on Aug 15 by JetBlue.
LB Airport alerted us to the incoming late flights which we passed along to our readers.
We have since learned that the flights arrived at roughly 1:16 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. and per the recent agreement with the City Prosecutor, City Hall (via the Airport) plans to assess JetBlue a penalty of $3,000 per flight and issue an additional $300 fine for each flight.
