(August 8, 2004) -- Sunday morning's silence in WLB was shattered at about 8:20 a.m. when an unknown suspect reportedly entered a residence in the 2100 block of Adriatic Ave. and fired multiple gunshots at two men, fatally wounding Shigeru Nagao, 64, and seriously wounding a 37-year old man (not identified by LBPD).

Police say the suspect was last seen riding a bicycle southbound away from the scene. LBPD is investigating the crime as possibly gang related. Anyone with information is asked to contact LBPD's Homicide Detectives Mark McGuire or Bill Matsubara at (562) 570-7244.
