(August 24, 2004) -- One person perished and another was injured when their car somehow left the roadway while exiting the southbound 710 freeway onto the eastbound Willow St. offramp, striking several trees and coming to rest on its roof.

The accident occurred on August 24 at roughly 3:40 a.m...and LBFD Public Information Officer Capt. Scott Clegg forwarded the photo above with an on-scene report from LBFD Battalion Chief Jeffrey Reeb.

Battalion Chief Reeb said one person in the car was either ejected or crawled out...and was found by bystanders. That person was transported to a local hospital,

The other person in the car perished and had to be extricated from the wreckage.
