(August 24, 2008) -- A Sunday afternoon house fire in the Park Estates area (west of CSULB, between Bellflower Blvd. and Clark Ave., north of PCH) produced thick smoke visible in much of the CSULB/Los Altos area and triggered a multi-alarm response to battle the blaze.

We were on scene shortly after the fire broke out at a home in the 5500 block of El Jardin St. at about 1:00 p.m. today (Aug. 24).

This vehicle was backed out of the carport and from a distance appeared to escape relatively unharmed, thanks to the Engineer from Engine 17.
