(August 3, 2012, 11:00 a.m.) -- Following a sizable public turnout at ELB's Chick-fil-A location as part of an Aug. 1 national "Appreciation Day" for the company's national president's stance opposing same sex marriage [third-party video included in LBReport.com previous coverage, click here], Ron Sylvester, President and Chairman of the LB Gay and Lesbian Center, provided the following statement to LBReport.com this morning (Aug. 3)
"This is clearly an issue of free speech, and while supporters of Chick-fil-A had a chance to exercise their right this week, today is our turn. We encourage everyone who believes in equality, and justice for all, to participate in today's "kiss-in" to send the message that hate and intolerance is unacceptable." [We don't have further details as of 11:00 a.m.] As reported earlier this morning on LBReport.com, "National Same Sex Kiss Day" organizers have a Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/NationalSameSexKissDay Further as we learn it on LBReport.com
