| (Aug. 17, 2012) -- On Saturday Aug. 18, the LB Junior Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the LB Police Foundation, the Assistance League of LB and Target stores will hold their 18th annual "Shop With A Cop" children's shopping spree at the Target Store location at Atlantic Ave./33rd St. in Long Beach.
It's an uplifting event in which 92 economically disadvantaged children from the LB area (ages 6-12) ( The children will be able to buy clothing and school supplies (organizers say in a release that it's sometimes the only new clothing the children will receive all year) and the Assistance League of Long Beach will provide each child with school uniforms and underwear in a school backpack. "We are thrilled to bring together all these community groups to join with our police officers on this important event," says Kathy Berry, LB Police Foundation Executive Director in a release.
