(Aug. 4, 2013, 11:55 p.m.) -- Initial information is sketchy but Long Beach police officers, working with the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. Metro unit, may have prevented a second "Bash Mob" incident from victimizing businesses in downtown Long Beach on Sunday night.
LBPD Public Information Officer Marlene Arrona tells LBREPORT.com that at about 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a large group of juveniles in the area of Pine Ave./Seaside Walk (roughly thirty juveniles were believed to be involved in a fight.) Officers detained several of the juveniles, cited six for infractions...and PIO Arrona says "further investigation revealed that additional groups of juveniles were possibly headed to the downtown area from Los Angeles."

At that time, LBPD made at least one arrest for theft; some businesses declined to prosecute; some members of the group were cited for various alleged violations. blog comments powered by Disqus
