Muggy Sunday Predicted With 30% Chance of Scattered Thundershowers After Light Rain Saturday Night
(August 3, 2014, 4:00 a.m.) -- Long Beach and much of the L.A. basin had light rain Saturday night into predawn Sunday (amounted to 3/100ths of an inch at LB Airport by 3 a.m.) and the Nat'l Weather Service says there's 30% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms today Sunday The Nat'l Weather Service forecasts Sunday highs in mid-70s at the shore to the mid-80s in inland parts of LB...and it's likely to be a bit more humid on Sunday than it was Saturday.
On Saturday, the privately operated KE6JDC weather station in ELB (Palo Verde south of Spring St.) reported 88% humidity at about dawn which only dropped to 64% in the noon hour. The Nat'l Weather Service's monitor at LB Airport (which indicated humidity mainly in the upper-60% to mid-70% range for most of the daylight hours Saturday.
