The spacecraft became visible in the Southwest sky at about 8:30:22 p.m., rose nearly directly overhead and reached its zenith over Long Beach (88 degrees high, 90 degrees is straight up) at 8:33:40. It then headed into the Northeast and disappeared at about 8:37:00 p.m. Image via Heavens-above.com The Int'l Space Station now carries high definition cameras, which send streaming video back to Earth...and we hoped to get a good view of the L.A-LB-OC area as the Space Station passed overhead. But alas, no: it was already too dark to see much of anything from space as the Space Station passed over the southland at roughy 17,000 mph. Yes, there are real people inside the International Space Station.
