See Message From Lakewood Sheriff Deputy Attacked While Responding To Domestic Violence Related Call @ Lakewood Mall; DA Charges Bell Gardens Man With Attempted Murder Of A Peace Officer Plus Other Felonies, Alleges Defendant Repeatedly Kicked And Stomped On Deputy's Head and Neck Area


(Aug. 20, 2014) -- Earlier today (Aug. 20), the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept.Lakewood Station webposted on its Facebook page the message (below) from LASD Deputy Brandon Love, who was assaulted and beaten last Friday night (Aug. 15) while investigating a domestic violence related matter at the Lakewood Center Mall.

Deputy Love dictated the message below to his wife. She transcribed it. It speaks for itself.

The Lakewood Sheriff's station says Deputy Love asked that the message be posted. "Please continue your prayers through his long recovery," the Lakewood Sheriff's station's Facebook dispatch adds.

The Lakewood Station also posted the picture below of Deputy Love and his wife Nicole.


The Lakewood Sheriff's Station also indicates that Deputy Love prepared a personal video for the Good Samaritan [who came to his assistance] and whom he calls his guardian angel...and "asked that it only be given to him."

On Aug. 19, the L.A. County District Attorney's office issued a release indicating that it has charged Frankie Estrada. 21, of Bell Gardens with the alleged attempted murder of a peace officer, aggravated mayhem and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor plus a misdemeanor count of battery.

[LA County DA release text] -- On Friday, Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies were investigating a domestic violence incident at the Lakewood Mall when Estrada allegedly punched a deputy, knocking him unconscious. Prosecutors said Estrada repeatedly kicked and stomped on the deputy's head and neck area while he lay on the ground.

The deputy remains hospitalized in serious condition.

If convicted, Estrada faces up to life in state prison.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is investigating the case.

As previously reported by LBREPORT.com, on Aug. 16, the LA County Sheriffs Dept. issued a release stating:

[LASD Aug. 16 release text, bracketed material by LBREPORT.com] -- On Friday, August 15, 2014, at approximately 8:00 PM, Lakewood Deputies responded to 500 Lakewood Center Mall, Lakewood, regarding a Domestic Disturbance Call.

While one deputy made initial contact with the female party involved in the incident, the other deputy went in search of the man who was possibly involved. While escorting the man out of the location towards the other deputy, the man [allegedly] unexpectedly turned on the deputy and hit him several times knocking the deputy to the ground and continued his assault with a shod foot.

A bystander in the mall witnessing the assault intervened by pushing the suspect away from the deputy. Assisting deputies arrived, and took the suspect into custody without further incident...
