The North DET gathered information and intelligence through preliminary investigations that this gang was associated with a violent crime spree within the North Division earlier this year. This prompted the North DET to crack down on this criminal organization, with the intent to weaken their ability to terrorize the community and profit from property related crimes. In the past several months, the North DET has been dedicated to identifying individuals who are associated with this gang, and the criminal activity they are responsible for. As a result of their efforts the following enforcement actions have been taken:
On Wednesday, August 12, 2015, the North DET served six (6) search warrants at the residences of North Side Longo Gang members who were wanted on various felony charges. These warrants were served with the assistance of several Long Beach details including the Narcotics Investigations Section, Gangs Enforcement Section, Violent Crimes Investigations, VICE Investigations, Juvenile Investigations, DET from West and East Patrol Divisions and the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT).

Approximately $35,000 worth of stolen property, believed to be associated with cargo truck thefts that have occurred within and outside of the City, and $4300 in cash, believed to be related to a north Long Beach burglary, were recovered related to the search warrants and arrests of Mayorga and Cooper. Detectives are still investigating these cases and the orgin of these recovered items.
