(Aug. 2, 2015, 6:50 a.m.) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that LBPD activity, including a containment perimeter visible on Saturday (Aug. 1) at late afternoon-early evening in the area of Anaheim St./Ohio Ave., was the successful apprehension of a person police say was wanted with a warrant in connection with a homicide.

Initial information is sketchy. LBPD Watch Commander Ali Assef tells LBREPORT.com that a suspect fled a traffic stop; officers recognized him as a wanted person related to a homicide; officers gave chase; the suspect initially got away; officers set up a containment perimeter...and the suspect ultimately came out and was successfully apprehended

The incident began shortly before before 5:50 p.m. and lasted until about 8:00 p.m.; no injuries to officers, suspect or nearby residents reported.

We have no immediate information on the homicide related to the arrest; further as we learn it.
