Man And Woman Shot/Wounded In WLB, Hours Before Anti-Crime Themed "National Night Out"

(Aug. 3, 2017, 6:20 a.m.) -- A man and a woman were shot and wounded at midafternoon in West Long Beach (SW of Wardlow Rd./710 freeway, 7th Council district) on Monday August 1, hours before "National Night Out" anti-crime themed neighborhood socializing events.

LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. James Johnson tells LBREPORT.com that at about 3:40 p.m. Aug. 1, officers responded to a "shots fired" call in the the 1300 block of Taper St. and found a man and a woman adults) with gunshot wounds described as non-life-threatening.

LBFD transported the victims to a hospital...and LBPD's investigation is ongoing.
