(Aug. 18, 2018) -- A LB woman, who LBPD says was driving at a high rate of speed on Saturday morning (Aug. 18) along Cherry Ave. approaching San Antonio/Del Amo, hit the back of another vehicle, swerved to the left and collided with a palm tree along Cherry Ave.'s center median...and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The L.A. County Coroner's office (per Lt. Nani Cholakians) says the decedent is Tatiana Christina Flores, 32, of Long Beach.

The driver of the vehicle she hit and her 72 year old female passenger were uninjured.

LBPD says its preliminary investigation indicates that roughly 7:50 a.m., Ms. Flores' 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe was headed northbound on Cherry Avenue in the number one lane at a high rate of speed when it collided south of Del Amo with the rear of a 2015 Toyota Camry driven by a 39 year-old L.A. woman. The impact caused the Toyota Camry to lose control and swerve to the right before ending up back in the number one lane.

Ms. Flores swerved left and collided with a palm tree along Cherry Ave.'s center raised median...and didn't survive.

The driver of the Toyota and her 72-year-old passenger were uninjured.

LBPD asks anyoner who may have witnessed what took place to contact Detective David Lauro of LBPD"s Collision Investigation Detail at (562) 570-7355.
