(December 26, 2001) -- Three LB residents were shot on Christmas Eve while celebrating the holidays in the 400 block of Olive Avenue in the 1st Council district.
Police responded to a shooting call at approximately 9:15 p.m. and found three men suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were treated on scene by LBFD, then transported to a local hospital.
LBPD says the victims were on the porch of a residence when the suspect allegedly approached the group and began arguing about a past disagreement with one of the victims. Police say the suspect left, then allegedly returned a short time later, firing numerous shots at the group from behind a parked vehicle; he allegedly fled the scene on foot after the shooting.
One victim, age 17, was shot in the head; he was reported in critical condition. A 24 year old sustained a neck injury and a 21 year old had a stomach wound; they were reported in serious condition.
LBPD has taken a suspect into custody who is being charged with attempted murder.
