SW Traffic Circle Area Double-Shooting: 17th/Loma, One Man Dies, Another Person Wounded

(Dec. 28, 2003, initial post) -- A 23-year old LB man was fatally shot, and another person was wounded, when someone fired shots at them as they sat in a parked car near 17th St. and Loma Ave., southwest of the Traffic Circle and a few blocks from LB Community Hospital, in the 4th Council district.

Details are sketchy in this initial post.

LBPD Public Information Officer Greg Schirmer tells LBReport.com that at about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday Dec. 27, police responded to a shots fired call in the area. A preliminary investigation indicates that an unidentified suspect approached the victims in the car and fired multiple shots into the vehicle.

Kimsot Sok, 23, of Long Beach died as a result of his wounds. A second person in the car was also wounded and is unidentified as we post
