City Hall Tips for Tree Safety

To help reduce fire hazards in your home during the holidays:

  • Add water to your tree daily to keep moisture in the tree.
  • Never burn a tree in your fireplace.
  • Check tree lights to make sure there are no loose bulbs or wires.
  • Turn off all tree lights when you go to bed or when you leave the house.
  • Never use lighted candles on or near a tree.
