(December 25, 2005) -- A man and a woman riding a bus in LB's south Wrigley area on Christmas Eve night were stabbed by a man, resulting in the death of the male passenger and wounding the woman.
On December 24 at approximately 10:28 p.m., officers responded to the area of 19th St. and Magnolia Ave. on December 24 regarding a fight on a bus. LBPD says the knife-wielding man stabbed the two victims, then exited at a bus stop at 19th St./Magnolia Ave.
LBFD paramedics transported the victims to a local hospital where the male victim did not survive his wounds. (Identification is pending notification of next of kin.)
The suspect has only been identified as a male, fleeing on foot. LBPD asks anyone with information of what took place to contact LBPD Homicide Detectives Dave Rios or William Matsubara at (562) 570-7244.
