Serious Dec. 6 Morning Accident, 405 @ Cherry

|(Dec. 6, 2005) -- LB Firefighters cut open part of the roof, removed the driver side doors and used the Jaws of Life to rescue a driver whose vehicle was involved in a collision with a motor coach bus on the southbound 405 freeway at Cherry Ave. today (Dec. 6).

|LBFD Battalion Chief/Public Information Officer Jeff Reeb says the events took place about 9:14 a.m.
LBFD Paramedics administered first-aid to the patient inside the vehicle while firefighters outside set up the "Jaws of Life" hydraulic tool.
17 LBFD personnel successfully extricated the driver in about 23 minutes. The force of the impact caused the driver and passenger side airbags to deploy. LBFD Paramedics transported the driver to a hospital in serious condition.
The cause of the accident is unknown as we post. Further as newsworthy.
