(Dec. 17, 2009, updated 7:30 p.m.) -- As previously reported by LBReport.com, LBPD conducted/took part in law enforcement actions today at some LB marijuana outlets.
One of the locations was apparently on 4th St. on near Elm Ave. An individual who told us he was nearby during most of the day said law enforcement was at the location from at least midmorning into the afternoon.
We are hearing through another individual, citing another source, that some people appeared to have been arrested.
When we arrived at approximately 4 p.m., the outlet's blinds were drawn and we couldn't see inside.
Earlier this afternoon, LBPD Commander Laura Farinella told LBReport.com that officers from LBPD's Drug Enforcement Section acted in relation to complaints received from members of the community and took enforcement action at a number of locations regarding alleged illegal over the counter sales of marijuana.
Numerous locations were involved but the exact number and specific locations weren't released due to ongoing investigations.
Commander Farinella says LBPD has been working with the L.A. County District Attorney's office on these cases and will be proceding accordingly.
