(Dec. 23, 2009) -- LBPD has released further information on law enforcement activities that LBReport.com reported occurred on Dec. 17 in connection with some LB marijuana outlets.
LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Dina Zapalski says LBPD served search warrants at 15 sites in LB and beyond; three MJ outlets were searched (two in LB, one in OC) and 17 people were arrested.
Sgt. Zapalski says the arrestees (nine from LB, the rest from OC, one from Riverside Co.) were released; until a case is filed, the charges are pending; investigators are sifting through a large amount of evidence and preparing the case for the DA's office in the near future, Sgt. Zapalski said.
The L.A. County DA's office has previously cited an ongoing investigation in declining to release further information. LBPD has previously said its officers acted in relation to complaints received from members of the community regarding activities alleged at the locations...and said LBPD is working with the DA's office and will be proceding accordingly.
The new information was first reported at late afternoon Dec. 22 by Tracy Manzer on PressTelegram.com and subsequently confirmed for us by Sgt. Zapalski.
