New Year's Day/Weekend LB City Services Schedule

(Dec. 30, 2014) -- Below are the City of LB's service schedules for Jan. 1 and the New Year's weekend:

  • Long Beach City Hall will be closed on Jan. 1, 2015. www.longbeach.gov

  • Refuse and Recycling will not be collected on Jan. 1; collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week and will end on Saturday. www.longbeach-recycles.org

  • Street Sweeping will not occur on Jan. 1. Street Sweeping will occur on its regular schedule before and after the holiday with no delays or make-ups, including on Dec. 31. www.longbeach-recycles.org

  • Parking meters and time zones that state "Except on Holidays" will not be enforced on Jan. 1. The days and hours of enforcement are posted inside meters. All meters and time zones will be enforced on Dec. 31. www.longbeach-recycles.org

  • All Long Beach Public Libraries will close at 5 pm on Dec. 31, and will be closed on Jan. 1. All libraries will re-open to the public at 10 am on Jan. 2. www.lbpl.org

    Treecycle

    The City's annual holiday "Treecycling" Tree Recycling program gives residents a chance to dispose of trees free of charge while keeping the trees out of the trash after the holidays.

    Through Jan. 9, 2015 residents can drop off trees at several locations throughout the City. Residents with City refuse service can leave their trees out where trash is normally collected by 7:00 am on Sat., Jan. 10, 2015.

    All trees must have decorations and stands removed, and trees over 12 feet tall should be cut in half. www.longbeach-recycles.org
