Woman Walking Thru Los Altos Shopping Center Parking Lot (2100 block Bellflower Blvd.) Has Purse Snatched By Man On Bike; Good Samaritan Gives Chase, Suspect Drops Purse And Police Find & Arrest Suspect

(Dec. 19, 2014, 7:45 p.m.) -- LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Megan Zabel tells LBREPORT.com that a woman walking through the Los Altos shopping center parking lot (2100 block Bellflower Blvd.) on Thursday Dec. 18 at about 7:00 p.m. was allegedly approached from behind by a man on a bicycle who grabbed her purse (slung over her shoulder) and took off.

PIO Zabel says a Good Samaritan witnessed what took place, chased after the suspect...and the suspect dropped the purse, which was returned to the victim (who suffered minor injuries.)

Sgt. Zabel says a police officer in the area located the suspect, who was arrested and also allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana for sale.

LBPD identifies the arrestee as Anthony Son, 20, of Long Beach, who was taken into custody on suspicion of robbery and possession of marijuana for sale.
