(Dec. 18, 2014) -- The L.A. County District Attorneys office says a jury deliberated for les than an hour today (Dec. 18) before delivering guilty verdicts against Steven Michael Desisto, 53, who was accused of sexually assaulting a woman last year (2013).

In a release, the L.A. County District Attorney's office says the jury found Desisto guilty of two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object where the victim was intoxicated and one count each of possession of a controlled substance and unauthorized invasion of privacy.

Desisto pleaded not guilty to the charges in January. The prosecution alleged that Desisto had drinks with the woman, took her to his apartment where she passed out, woke up to Desisto sexually assaulting her, fled the residence and notified police. The D.A.'s release says that during the investigation, authorities discovered an image of the victim during the sexual assault on Desisto’s cellphone...and also found cocaine at his home.

LBPD investigated the case. Desisto is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 4 and faces a maximum sentence of 11 years in state prison and will required to register for life as a sex offender.
