(Dec. 7, 2015) -- Following-up on a story reported first (again) by LBREPORT.com on Sunday morning Dec. 6, the L.A. County Coroner's office (per Lt. Fred Corral) tells LBREPORT.com today (Dec. 7) that a man found deceased in an RV in a parking lot in the 1700 block of Ximeno Ave. -- between Atherton St. and PCH, just blocks from the Traffic Circle and LBPD's East Long Beach substation -- is being investigated as "an apparent homicide."

In a release this afternoon (Dec. 7), LBPD says the victim was found in the RV with "fatal injury to the torso." (Lt. Corral declined to be more specific about the cause of death at this point.) He indicated the victim is a man, age 62, and his identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

LBPD says in its release that its Detectives believe the victim had only resided in Long Beach for a short time...and a motive for the assault "is unknown and remains under investigation."

LBPD asks anyone with information about what took place to contact LBPD Homicide Detectives Mark Bigel Guarino and Shea Robertson at (562) 570-7244. Anonymous tips may be submitted by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or visiting www.lacrimestoppers.org.
