(Dec. 22, 2016, 9:10 p.m.) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that a teacher at Central LB's Poly High School became the victim of an armed robbery in which he suffered physical injuries sufficiently serious that LBFD transported him to a hospital. Two suspects (men) stole valuable property from the teacher in a school parking lot as he arrived for work shortly before dawn.

LBPD Public Information Officer Marlene Arrona tells LBREPORT.com that at about 5:53 a.m. on Wednesday Dec. 21, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Atlantic Ave. to investigate an armed robbery. They arrived to find an injured man (adult) in a Poly High School parking lot and the victim was later determined to be a teacher. LBPD PIO Arrona says the preliminary investigation indicates two men (adults) knocked the teacher down and fled with his property; LBFD transported the victim to a hospital with injuries that LBPD says appeared to be minor.

A third party [non-PD source, provided info confirmed by PD although the following is unconfirmed] tells LBREPORT.com that the teacher was robbed at gunpoint, beaten and sustained physical injuries that we would describe as substantial. [We won't detail the injuries without the victim's confirmation and permission.]
