(February 8, 2005) -- LBReport.com has learned that L.A. County Supervisor Don Knabe -- who supported southbay cities against proposed LAX expansion -- has faxed letters to members of the LB City Council stating in part:
"I urge you to make sure all plans to include 'all plans' including a 135,000 sq. ft. plan in your review."
City Hall fax machines began churning out the Supervisors letter at approximately 1:00 p.m...just hours before a scheduled City Council vote on the item.
"Fairness is a big issue with the FAA," the Supervisor tells the LB Councilmembers in his letter, adding:
"Long Beach has one of the best noise ordinances and flight slot caps of [sic] anywhere in the Nation. You do not want to jeopardize those restrictions simply because you simply did not include the larger terminal expansion plan in your review."
