(Feb. 3, 2008) -- LB registered Dems report receiving a recorded telephone message from Congresswoman Laura Richardson (D., Carson-LB) urging a vote for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D, NY) on Feb. 5.
Below is a transcript of Cong. Richardson's recorded message (which we also document in audio form below):
Cong. Richardson: This is Congresswoman Laura Richardson and I'm calling to share with you why I'm supporting Senator Hillary Clinton for President.
Senator Clinton is no stranger to our community. I've known her for over ten years.
She's advocated for affordable and accessible health care and education, she's prepared to be fiscally responsible and to add new green jobs, and she's committed to the safe redeployment of our troops out of Iraq.
As your Congresswoman for the last sixteen weeks I can tell you that experience does matter.
Join me in voting for Hillary Clinton for President. This message was paid for by Laura Richardson.

Cong. Richardson is also visible in a front page photo in Sunday's (Feb. 3) Los Angeles Times alongside other local officials at a rally with Sen. Clinton; former President Bill Clinton is expected in L.A. on Sunday. Cong. Richardson was an early supporter of Sen. Clinton (endorsement announced Sept. 2007); Cong. Maxine Waters (D., Los Angeles) endorsed Sen. Clinton in January 2008. .
Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey and Sen. Obama's wife Michelle attended a star-powered Sunday afternoon UCLA rally (Feb. 3)...at which CA First Lady Maria Shriver came on stage and endorsed Sen. Obama.
Ms. Shriver joins half of the Kennedy family, including JFK's daughter Caroline Kennedy, who have endorsed Sen. Obama. Other members of the Kennedy clan have backed Sen. Clinton.
LB Mayor Bob Foster and State Sen. Alan Lowenthal (D., LB-Lakewood-Paramount) have endorsed Sen. Obama...and on Sunday, the L.A. Times endorsed Sen. Obama on the Dem side...as did the L.A. Spanish language daily La Opinion. [The Times and La Opinion endorsed Sen. John McCain on the Repub side.]
On Feb. 2, the Obama campaign held an ELA rally featuring L.A. County Federation of Labor chief Maria Elena Durazo (National Obama for America Co-Chair), State Senators Gil Cedillo and Gloria Romero and Cong. Xavier Beceerra.
