(Feb. 4, 2010) -- LBReport.com has learned that LBPD responded to indications of a business burglary + three attempted business burglaries and/or vandalism on Atlantic Ave. in Bixby Knolls on Jan. 27, 2010.
LBPD Public Information Officer Jackie Bezart says that on Jan. 27:
- At approx. 12:30 a.m., officers responded to the 4200 block of Atlantic to a silent alarm call; it appears that a window to a business was tampered with after closing (report taken).
- A few hours later at about 5:00 a.m., officers responded to the 4400 block of Atlantic regarding a vandalism (window smash) to a business that occurred sometime during the night (report taken).
- At about 5:20 a.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of Atlantic Ave. to take a commercial burglary report at a food establishment. It appears that sometime during the night suspect(s) entered the business and removed items (report taken).
- On the same date (time not immediately available) in the 4100 block of Atlantic, officers responded to an audible alarm to a business; the business was checked...with no sign of entry.
LBPD's North Division Detective Team will conduct a follow-up investigation, PIO Bezart said.
As previously reported by LBReport.com, on Feb. 1 at about 8:30 p.m., a business in the 3900 of Atlantic Ave. (just north of Roosevelt Rd.) was the victim of an attempted armed robbery (three individuals)...in which an employee produced a weapon and fired at the suspect(s). The shots missed; all the suspects were apprehended by LBPD...whose response involved a significant police presence for the follow-up investigation and to search for what was initially thought to be another suspect.
