Countdown Clocks

(Feb. 25, 2014, 6:48 a.m.) -- At 5:30 p.m. Monday (Feb. 24), customers were lined up at Bella Pizza LB (4085 Atlantic at Carson, entrance on Carson) after learning -- via the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association's Facebook page -- that the neighborhood business had suffered a break-in a few weeks ago.

The criminals broke the restaurant's front glass door (expensive) and stole a television (also expensive.)

BKBIA Executive Director Blair Cohn and Bella Pizza LB's owner organized a flash (no pre-promotion) event, inviting Facebook friends to show support for the neighborhood business with a discount deal on a small pizza during a short time window (5:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 24.)

BKBIA Exec. Dir. Blair Cohn greets early arrivals.

We saw a fairly steady crowd.

Crime victims know that "crimes against property" are really crimes against people, and crimes against commercial businesses are crimes against the hard working people who own and operate those businesses. Stopping in and buying a pizza and some trimmings in the coming days supports the hard working people who suffered a bad break while working to run this LB neighborhood business.
