(Feb. 13, 2015) -- Shots were fired -- heard by officers themselves -- at early evening Thursday (Feb. 12) a few blocks north of downtown Long Beach just west of Pacific Ave./7th St.
LBPD Public Information Officer Marlene Arrona tells LBRPEORT.com that officers were in the area of 8th/Pacific at about 6:32 p.m. when they learned a shooting occurred. Officers detained a subject within a few minutes...and found evidence that a crime occurred in the area of the 200 block of West 7th St. and determined no one was injured. As previously reported by LBREPORT.com, on Jan. 12, 2015 residents in the 900 block of Pacific Ave. reported hearing gunfire at about 2:40 a.m. Monday morning (Jan. 12)...and they were right. Officers located evidence of a shooting at the location...although no victim was located. And as previously reported by LBREPORT.com, less than twelve hours earlier four people were shot in double shootings at two separate locations. One at roughly 4 p.m. was in the area of 14th St./Raymond Ave. (northeast of Cherry Ave./Anaheim St.) in the 4th Council district; the other was about 5:15 p.m. in the 900 block of Daisy Ave. in the 1st Council district.
