[LBPD release text] On Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at approximately 7:16 p.m., Long Beach Police responded to the area of Redondo Avenue and 4th Street regarding an injury traffic collision, which resulted in the death of a male adult.
An resident of the area tells LBREPORT.com that the 4th/Redondo intersection has had a number of vehicle and pedestrian accidents [which we haven't independently confirmed.] "Perhaps a roundabout is in order at this intersection," the reader says. On January 15, 2012, a motorcyclist was killed after impacting a vehicle three blocks north at 7th St./Redondo Ave. In a release at that time, LBPD said the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and entered the intersection against a red light. The driver of the 2012 7th/Redondo accident was interviewed at the scene and released.
