UPDATE: LBPD Says Man And Woman Found Deceased In Old Lakewood Village Home Were Husband And Wife, Both Sustained Gunshot Wounds, No Obvious Signs of Forced Entry To Home, Firearm Recovered And [LBPD release] "This Does Not Appear To Be A Random Act of Violence."

(Feb. 5, 2015, 10:25 a.m.) -- Following-up on a story LBREPORT.com reported yesterday (Feb. 4), LBPD says in a release that the man and woman found deceased in a residence in the 4400 block of Rutgers Ave. (Old Lakewood Village area) were husband and wife; both sustained gunshot wounds; there were no obvious signs of forced entry to the home; a firearm was recovered at the scene...and [LBPD release] "this does not appear to be a random act of violence."

LBPD says its investigation remains ongoing.

[LBPD release text] -- On Wednesday, February 04, 2015, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Long Beach Police responded to the 4400 block of Rutgers Avenue regarding two deceased individuals found inside a residence.

When the officers arrived they located a male adult and a female adult who appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds. Long Beach Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced both individuals deceased at the scene.

The victims have been identified as 57-year-old Salvador Trujillo, and his wife, 57-year-old Sayuri Jean Griffin of Long Beach. The preliminary investigation revealed there were no obvious signs of forced entry to the home, and a firearm was recovered from the scene. This does not appear to be a random act of violence. The investigation remains ongoing.

(Feb. 4, 2015, initial report) -- LBREPORT.com has learned that a man and a woman were found dead this afternoon (Feb. 4) in a residence in the 4400 block of Rutgers Ave. (Old Lakewood Village neighborhood.)

In very early information, LBPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Megan Zabel says that at approximately 3:00 p.m. officers responded to the 4400 block of Rutgers regarding a man and a woman (both adults) found deceased inside of a residence.

LBPD Homicide is on scene and the investigation is ongoing.
