Call Reporting Possible Hand Grenade In Wrigley Prompts Precautionary PD Response; Bomb Squad Determines It's Fake

(Feb. 27, 2016) -- LBPD indicates a call reported a possible hand grenade in the 2100 block of Chestnut Ave. today (Sat. Feb. 27) at about 9:29 a.m., prompting an LBPD response that set a containment perimeter and summoned LASD's Bomb Squad.

LASD arrived and determined the grenade was fake...and LBPD's investigation is ongoing.
